Dr Emma Hellawell

Emma Hellawell is a Daphne Jackson Fellow in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Surrey.

As a civil engineer specialising in contaminated land, Emma has worked both in industry and academia. After a career break of eight years, Emma’s research will now focus on brownfield site contamination.

Her Fellowship is sponsored by the University of Surrey and the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

Emma’s research project is titled: Analysis of asbestos and benzo-a-pyrene levels in UK urban soil from local authority data and her Fellowship is due to finish in 2020.
