Fellowship Title: “HILLY – High-Impact events and Large-scaLe dYnamics: Connecting changes in storms and atmospheric rivers to the large-scale dynamical response to a warming climate”.
Matt’s project investigates the relationship between potential future changes in small scale events which cause damage, such as extra-tropical storms, and changes in large-scale dynamics, such as jet stream variability, in order to help us adapt to a changing climate. During his fellowship, he intends to use his retraining time to update and improve his coding and data handling skills.
