We offer fellowships to people looking to return to research after a break of two years or more, whether taken for family, caring or health reasons. If that’s you – you’re in the right place!
Each fellowship is individually tailored and can be:
Flexible to fit around you
Part-time or variable
In any research setting
in the UK and Ireland
Fellowships include:
- A challenging research project to help you restart your career
- A personalised retraining programme
Define your future
We recruit, retrain, and support fellows as they embark on their journey back to research. Our fellowship advisors work with each applicant to develop a tailored fellowship that delivers the best chance of success. We’re particularly brilliant at this (even if we say it ourselves!)
We provide:
- A rigorous application process to ensure each fellow has considered all their options.
- Bespoke training and events to rebuild confidence and create new connections.
Unique mentoring and support from a dedicated Daphne Jackson Fellowship Advisor from the beginning of an application to the end of the Fellowship and beyond.
Our fellowships are only made possible through partnerships with other organisations.
- Funders: We don’t provide funding ourselves, but we do work with government, universities, learned societies, charities, and industry to secure funding for our fellowships.
- Hosts: We work with any university, research institute or industry who is interested in hosting a Daphne Jackson Fellow.
- Supervisors: Each fellow must have at least two supervisors (two of whom must be based at the host organisation) to manage and guide the fellow on day-to-day aspects of their work.
