Dr Deepa Bhatt
Deepa Bhatt is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at the University of Reading in the Department of Chemistry.
Deepa is an engineer and has a BEng in Metallurgy Engineering and an MEng in Material Technology from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodara in India. Deepa did her PhD at Loughborough University in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, after which she worked as a freelance engineer and tutor before completing an MSc in Microelectronics and Nanotechnology from De Montford University, Leicester.
Now returning to her research career after a break of eight years, Deepa would like to synthesize and test a thermoelectric material which can harvest waste energy (heat) and convert this to electricity. Her project is titled: New Thermoelectric Materials for Energy Applications.
Due to finish in 2024, her Fellowship is sponsored by the University of Reading and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
