Dr Christina Biggs
Dr Christina Biggs is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at Swansea University in the College of Engineering: The Team | Energy Safety Research Institute (ESRI) (esri-swansea.org).
Christina has a PhD from the University of Cambridge in Mineral Physics. As a specialist in ice and water-containing rock minerals, she has held post-doctoral positions at the University of Birmingham and at the ILL (Institut Laue-Langevin) in Grenoble, France.
Now returning to her career, Christina is an active environmental campaigner and would like to promote the use of hydrogen as a clean fuel. Her research project is titled: Mineralogical Routes to Cheap Hydrogen Production: developing clay based membranes for the electrolysis of water.
Due to finish in 2023, this three year Fellowship is sponsored by the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
