Dr Angeliki Skagia

Angeliki Skagia is a Daphne Jackson Fellow in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Warwick.

With a degree in biology from the University of Patras, Greece, Angeliki went on to study for an MSc, and then a PhD at the Agriculture University of Athens, exploring plant associated microbes using genetic techniques.

Returning to research after a five year career break, Angeliki’s project will focus on investigating the relationship between phytobacterial pathogens and their interaction with plants. The project is a step away from her previous PhD research which will enable her to gain a number of new skills.

Angeliki’s Fellowship is sponsored by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC).

Her research project is titled: Community dynamics and metabolic reconfiguration underpinning phytobacterial diseases and is due to finish in 2024.
