Dr Chigdem Arslan

Dr Chigdem Arslan

Dr Chigdem Arslan is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at The University of Edinburgh in the Institute of Quantitative Biology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology.

Chigdem’s research background is in Molecular Biology and Genetics. In completing her PhD she carried out research into the association of X chromosome inactivation in autoimmune diseases.

Now returning to her career after an eight year career break, her project title is: Understanding activation of glutamate neuroreceptors for neurodevelopmental disorders treatment.

Due to finish in 2024, her Fellowship is sponsored by Medical Research Scotland.
