About our fellowships
Daphne Jackson Fellowships are unique. They offer you an opportunity to return to your career in research after a break of two years or more, whether taken for family, caring or health reasons.
Without our fellowships, many people find themselves unable to return to their former career in research. The challenges are too great to overcome – whether it’s bias, a lack of confidence or falling behind in fast-moving fields. We think that every talented professional who doesn’t return – despite wanting to – is a huge loss of skills, talent, training and career fulfilment.
Our fellowships combine a personalised retraining programme with a challenging research project to create something truly unique to you. Our unparalleled support, coupled with our mentoring and retraining courses, give you the confidence and skills you need to succeed.
The difference we make
We’ve supported over 500 Fellows to return to their careers.
9/10 Daphne Jackson Fellows stay in research or teaching long-term.
Our Fellowships provide returners with confidence and experience that make them highly sought-after: 2/3 work at the same institution as their Fellowship.
For every £1 invested in a Daphne Jackson Fellow, they secure nearly £2 in further funding.
