INTERESTED IN NUTRITION? Come to “The Science of Food” event on November 17 6-8pm
We’re welcoming attendees to register to join us online or in person. If you attend in person, we’d be delighted to host you for a drinks reception after the main programme – and however you attend, you can sign up to receive a goody bag with some hands-on activities (and tasters) to enjoy at home!
You are invited to this year’s Daphne Jackson Day event – The Science of Food taking place in person and virtually on Wednesday 17 November 6.00 to 8.00pm.
Daphne Jackson Day celebrates equality, diversity and inclusion in science and engineering research, and aims to inspire everyone to find their passion for science, regardless of identity, background or circumstance.
Professor Max Lu will open the event and our host, Professor Jane Ogden, will guide us through a series of talks covering the science from breakfast to dinner – and of course, dessert. Our guest speakers will whet your appetite for understanding the science behind our food, from underground salad to lab-grown meat and the chemistry of chocolate.
We are delighted to have the following guest speakers join us on the evening –
Dr Katie Perry, Daphne Jackson Trust
Professor Susan Lanham-New, University of Surrey
Dr Maria C. Hernandez-Soriano, Daphne Jackson Trust Fellow
Serena Lachini , Growing Underground
Allison Esperanza, University of Bath
David Hill, University of Surrey
After the talks, our guest speakers will host a Q&A session. You will be able to ask them your questions whether you are attending in person or from home.
