We’re rebranding!

We’re rebranding!  Here at the Daphne Jackson Trust, we’re delighted to introduce you to our new brand and logo. We hope you like it as much as we do!

We support people who have taken a break from their career in research for at least two years for family, caring or health reasons.  Named after Professor Daphne Jackson, the first female professor of physics in the UK, we’ve helped over 500 people return to research since 1992. Our fellowships combine a personalised programme of retraining and mentorship, enabling fellows to generate novel, high-quality research findings or make essential contributions to the technical research environment.

Our new logo includes Daphne Jackson’s name in a colour gradient from blue to purple along with an upward looping arrow.  These colours represent our innovative and forward-thinking approach, while the arrow represents the pivoting journey of our fellows and the upward trajectory of their progress.  Both are used across the new brand, along with a bright, modern colour palette and images of fellows.

Our brand uses a series of new slogans, including  “Empower. Overcome. Reignite.” and  â€śCareers > Restarted” along with our traditional “Supporting Research Returners.”  These slogans complement the approachable, innovative, and confident tone of the new brand.

The re-brand was created with AVE, a design agency that specialises in partnering with cause-driven organisations and charities.  Along with our Daphne Jackson team, they undertook a series of surveys with users, fellows, and stakeholders and worked with a steering group to develop the new logo and brand.

Our new logos can be found here:
