Policy and influence
We’re working to create a fairer and more equitable research environment by influencing policy in government and the wider research ecosystem.
Career breaks shouldn’t be seen as an anomaly
They are a key part of many people’s lives. But in research, outdated practices and unfounded concerns often create barriers that prevent many people from returning to their careers. Those that do return are often forced to accept more junior positions than in their pre-break career or work in entirely different fields away from their expertise.
Our policy work seeks to change this – not just for our fellows, but everyone.
We are committed to working with stakeholders to tackle the issues facing returners. Working together, we can make positive change.
