Fellowship Title: Disrupted Narratives, Exposed Voices: A Global Scoping Review of HIV Oral History and its Public Dissemination (1985-2025)

The project aims to search, scope and synthesise oral histories (audio interviews and archival collections), reviewing at a global level whose HIV-related oral histories have been captured, whether this is comparable across cultures and countries and where there are gaps.

The goal is to interpret complex issues about power, voice, representativeness, digitisation and dissemination as we move towards legacy and writing the history of this pandemic. It aims to amplify the voices and stories of the most vulnerable in our communities on the principle that voice is power and stories are resistance.

Wendy intends to use the retraining time to update searching and narrative metadata retrieval techniques.

We rely on our partners to fund fellowships, host and supervise fellows at their institutions and provide support to help us grow. Find out more about how to get involved below.
