Dr Martina Klejchova

Daphne Jackson Fellow at the University of Glasgow in the School of School of Molecular Biosciences

Name: Dr Martina Klejchova
Field: Life Sciences & Biomedicine

Specialisms:

  • Plant ion transport
  • Machine learning

Research and qualifications:

  • BSc in Biology from the University of South Bohemia, Czechia
  • MSc in Biomolecular research from Masaryk University, Czechia
  • PhD in experimental plant biology from Charles University, Czechia
  • Research Associate at the University of Glasgow studying plant membrane transport using plant electrophysiology. Collaboration on three projects that were published in Nature Plants, Plant Cell and Plant Physiology

Returning to her research after a four-year break, Martina’s Fellowship is entitled: “Unravelling the relationship between gating and structure in plant potassium channels to improve plant water use efficiency“. Martina aims to improve these channels to create plants that are more resilient to light and water availability and to environmental challenges.

We rely on our partners to fund fellowships, host and supervise fellows at their institutions and provide support to help us grow. Find out more about how to get involved below.
