Dr Huiqi (Yvonne) Lu, Associate Fellow, Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford
Two real-life legends have given me so much inspiration – Professors Daphne Jackson and Dorothy Hodgkin. Both demonstrate the excellence of female scientists and engineers. They inspire the younger generation to be confident and resilient to rejections and failures.”
In 2019, after a five-year career break, Huiqi joined the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Oxford with a Daphne Jackson Trust Fellowship funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering and the University of Oxford. Her fellowship focused on the development of machine learning methods for tracking people with chronic disease using home-monitoring systems, with an emphasis on maternal health and diabetes.
