We are delighted to announce that Cancer Research UK will be supporting up to three returning researchers with Daphne Jackson Fellowships, to be held at Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute.

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading cancer charity, dedicated to saving and improving lives through research, influence and information. Its vision is a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.

The part-time fellowships are open to people who want to return to research after a career break of at least two years to carry out research focused on understanding the mechanisms that regulate cancer cell proliferation, survival and dissemination. Applicants from a range of disciplines are welcome to apply, for example including computational as well as biomedical scientists.

The Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute, located within the picturesque parkland of the University of Glasgow’s Garscube Campus, offers a world-class environment for cutting-edge cancer research. The Institute is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technologies, supporting discovery science through to translational research, with strong links to clinical partners that enable real-world impact. Researchers benefit from a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary culture.

“It’s wonderful to be able to work with a charity that carries out such important work, and the Scottish Institute is an outstanding, internationally leading, place to conduct research – where many ground-breaking discoveries are being made on a disease that impacts us all!”

Dr. Katie Perry, Chief Executive of The Daphne Jackson Trust
