Our Daphne Jackson Fellowships depend on funding from research organisations like Kidney Research UK. Our ongoing partnership with Kidney Research UK allows people to return to research after a career break and contributes to Kidney Research UK’s research priorities, helping to find solutions to kidney disease.
Kidney Research UK is the leading UK charity focused on funding research into the prevention, treatment and management of kidney disease. With ÂŁ71 million spent on kidney research in the last ten years, Kidney Research UK prioritises research on transforming treatments, multiple health conditions, and health inequalities.
This includes the research of Daphne Jackson Fellow Dr Winnie Chan. Winnie’s research project – The CHERISH Study – explored how home-based diet and exercise programs could decrease frailty in kidney transplant recipients.
We are dedicated to support those who have had a career break and wish to return to kidney research, through our collaboration with the Daphne Jackson Trust.
We are keen to encourage and retain individuals in research that is relevant to kidney health and kidney disease because with their knowledge, skills and drive, we can meet the challenge of better prevention, diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease.”
