About LifeArc

The Fellowship may be held at one of LifeArc’s scientific research facilities in Stevenage or Edinburgh or one of the academic centres partnering on the Translational Challenges as listed above.

LifeArc is a self-funded medical research charity. Its mission is to advance translation of early science into health care treatments or diagnostics, by taking science ideas out of the lab and turning them into medical breakthroughs, that can be life changing for patients.  LifeArc has been doing this for more than 25 years and its work has resulted in five licensed medicines including cancer drug Keytruda and a diagnostic for antibiotic resistance.

LifeArc has its own drug discovery and diagnostics development facilities and a team of experts in technology transfer and intellectual property who also provide services to other organisations. LifeArc’s model is built on collaboration, and it partners with a broad range of groups including medical research charities, research organisations, industry and academic scientists.

In 2022, LifeArc announced its commitment to spending £1.3bn by 2030 in areas of unmet medical need.
