About this Fellowship

Applications are invited for a three-year part-time Daphne Jackson Fellowship co-sponsored by JDRF to be held at any UK university or research establishment. The Fellowship is intended for researchers interested in type 1 diabetes and its associated complications who want to return to their research careers.

The remaining funding will be secured by the Daphne Jackson Trust from an additional sponsor.

We welcome Fellowship applications that will address one of our priority areas, curing type 1 diabetes or improving lives by keeping people with type 1 diabetes as healthy as possible until cures are found by advancing new T1D resources, technologies, and therapies.


Daphne Jackson Fellowships

The Daphne Jackson Trust is dedicated to returning researchers following a career break for a family, caring or health reasons.

Daphne Jackson Fellowships are unique – they offer professionals wishing to return to a research career after a break of two or more years, the opportunity to balance an individually tailored retraining programme with a challenging research project in a suitably supportive environment. The unparalleled support offered by the Trust’s Fellowship Advisors and administrative staff, coupled with mentoring and retraining provided during the Fellowship, give returners the confidence and skills they need to successfully return to research.

Closing date for applications is Monday 15th May 2023

Following shortlisting by the Daphne Jackson Trust, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will undertake an internal selection process to identify the preferred candidate.
