Dr Vijayalakshmi Deivasikamani

Vijayalakshmi Deivasikamani is a Daphne Jackson Fellowship at the University of Leeds, in the Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine (LICAMM). Vijayalakshmi is a researcher in the field of human genetics.

Prior to a career break of ten years, Vijayalakshmi was an Assistant Professor and Lecturer at the Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in Chennai, India, where she had previously undertaken her doctoral research into prostate cancer.

Vijayalakshmi’s three year Fellowship is sponsored by the British Heart Foundation.

Her research project is titled: Mechano-sensor gene mutation in human cardiovascular disease and her Fellowship is due to finish in 2021.
