Dr Winnie Chan

Winnie Chan is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at the University of Birmingham in the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences.

With a BSc in Nutrition from King’s College, University of London, an MSc in Food Technology, and a Diploma in Dietetics, Winnie worked firstly as a Dietitian. As her interest in research grew, she went on to do a PhD in Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Birmingham studying the Effects of Body Composition on Clinical and Quality of Life Outcomes in Kidney Transplant Recipients.

Returning to research after a six year career break, Winnie’s project is entitled: A Combined Home-Based Exercise and Nutritional Approach to Improve Frailty Status in Kidney Transplant Recipients:  A Randomised Controlled Feasibility Study

Her Fellowship is sponsored by Kidney Research UK and is due to finish in 2023.
