Valentina Fogal is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at Imperial College London in the Department of Medicine.

Valentina has a BSc and MSc in Biological Science from University of Trieste, Italy and a PhD from Imperial College London in cancer research. This led to a post doc position at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute in San Diego, a Fellowship from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, followed by a further position at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center in Translational Neuro-Oncology. At the Moores Cancer Centre, Valentina was a project scientist and initiated and led an independent research project based on her previous post-doctoral findings.

Now returning to her research following a 9 year break, Valentina’s project is entitled: Understanding metabolic and epigenetic adaptation to MAT2A inhibition and its implications for safety and efficacy of anti-MAT2A therapy

Due to finish in 2025, her Fellowship is sponsored by Imperial College London, AstraZeneca and the Medical Research Council (MRC).
