Dr Richard Matthews

Richard Matthews is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at Imperial College London in the Department of Chemical Engineering.

With a degree in Industrial Chemistry, followed by a PhD in Computational Chemistry from the University of Cape Town, Richard went on to post doctoral work at Imperial College London, looking at structures of compounds in different solvents. He is now returning to research after a four year career break.

Richard’s Fellowship is sponsored by the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Due to finish is 2022, his research project is entitled: Developing the Key Relationships Involved in Protein Structure and Stability in Ionic Solvents.
