Daphne Jackson Fellow, The University of Edinburgh, School of Chemistry

Name: Dr Reshu Tyagi
Field: Physical Sciences

Specialisms:

  • Polymer chemistry
  • Filtration and separation technologies

Research and qualifications:

  • BSc in botany from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, India
  • MSc in chemistry from Gurukula Kangri, Haridwar, India
  • M.Tech in polymer science and technology from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India
  • PhD in Polymer Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India

Returning to her research after a 2-year break, Reshu’s Fellowship is entitled: “Novel imidazole-based polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIMs) for membrane applications”. Reshu’s research explores how Imidazole – an organic compound with tiny pores that has been developed for use in membranes – can be used in filtration and separation technologies.
