Dr Mehrvash Varnasseri
Mehrvash is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at the University of Liverpool in the Institute of Integrative Biology’s Department of Biosciences.
With a background in chemistry, Mehrvash initially studied at the University of Tehran. Having lectured in the subject, she went on to do a PhD in physical chemistry at The University of Manchester. Now returning to research after an eight year career break, she is looking into the issues surrounding food security.
Her Fellowship is sponsored by the University of Liverpool and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC).
Mehrvash’s research project is titled: Rapid on-site food security analysis using Raman spectroscopy and she will complete her Fellowship in 2021.
