Dr Marita O’Sullivan

Daphne Jackson Fellow at the University of Liverpool in the Department of Physics

Name: Dr Marita O’Sullivan
Field: Physical Sciences; Engineering & Technology

Specialisms:

  • Theoretical physics
  • Materials science

Research and qualifications:

  • BSc in Physics from Trinity College Dublin
  • PhD in Physics from Trinity College Dublin
  • Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Liverpool

Returning to her research after a 4-year break, Marita’s Fellowship is entitled: “Geometrical lattice engineering of correlated metallic oxides”. Martia’s research explores how to modify the atomic structures of metallic oxides, materials consisting of at least one metal and one oxygen atom, with the aim of influencing their electronic, magnetic, or other physical properties and enhancing the material’s behavior.
