Dr Marilena Belesi

Marilena Belesi is a Daphne Jackson Fellow in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nottingham.

Having studied in Greece for her BSc and Masters in Physics, Marilena completed a PhD in experimental condensed matter physics at the NCR Demokritos Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics.

Working in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Marilena has held post doctoral positions in organisations across the world. These include Iowa State University, USA and European Institutions, including Pavia University (Italy), Leiden University (the Netherlands), the National Centre of Scientific Research (Athens), the Ecole Polytechnique Federale  (Switzerland) and the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (Germany).

Due to finish in 2023 Marilena’s Fellowship is sponsored by the University of Nottingham and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Returning to research after a six year career break her project is entitled: Advancing Dynamic Nuclear Polarization in Metal Organic Frameworks
