Dr Marcela Davalos Tournaire
Marcela Davalos Tournaire is a Daphne Jackson Fellow within the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (SBCS) at Queen Mary University of London.
Marcela is returning to molecular microbiology after a career break of 10 years. Prior to her break, Marcela trained as a molecular biologist and applied her skills working on nitrogen fixing microorganisms and in olfactory neurones in research positions in France and Brazil.
Her Fellowship is sponsored by Queen Mary University of London.
Marcela’s research project involves the use of functional genomics to investigate the role of Ferredoxin C2, a putative regulator essential to photosynthetic organisms. She is due to complete her Fellowship in 2021.
