Dr Mahdieh Ebrahimi
Mahdieh Ebrahimi is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at Imperial College London in the Department of Mechanical Engineering – Mechanics of Materials Division.
Mahdieh studied for a BSc and MSc in Physics at the University of Tehran, and then worked in Abu Dhabi at the Masader Institute (in collaboration with MIT). Securing a PhD place at Imperial College London, her PhD was a collaborative project between Imperial College London and Element Six, an engineering company specialising in providing synthetic diamond, cubic boron nitride and other superhard materials for industrial use.
Building on her previous research, Mahdieh aims to develop a new micro-scale computational tool for use in industrial product design. Her project is titled: Predictive fracture modelling and virtual testing in Brittle Materials: Effects of residual stresses and thermal variation.
Due to finish in 2023, this Fellowship is sponsored by the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
