Dr Lisa Rooney

Lisa Rooney is a Daphne Jackson Fellow in the Division of Cancer Therapeutics at The Institute of Cancer Research.

Following a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, and a post doctoral position in France, Lisa moved to working in industry, working on early stage research in the design and synthesis of clinical drug candidates.

Lisa is returning after a two year career break to medicinal chemistry research focusing on a rare and fatal childhood brain tumour.

Her Fellowship is sponsored by The Institute of Cancer Research and the Medical Research Council (MRC) and is due to finish her Fellowship in 2021.

Her research project is titled: A Computational Approach to the Development of Selective Activin Receptor-Like Kinase-2 Inhibitors for the Treatment of Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma.
