Dr Christine Tyrrell

Dr Christine (Kirsty) Tyrrell is a Daphne Jackson Fellow at The University of Edinburgh in the Centre for Inflammation Research.

Kirsty has a degree in zoology and an MSc in ecology. After finding work in the Centre for Inflammation Research at the University of Edinburgh, she gained experience in biomedical research and decided to continue working in this field. Kirsty went on to complete her PhD at The University of Edinburgh after which she became a post doctoral researcher.

Now returning to research after a ten year career break, Kirsty’s project is titled: The Role of Defensins in Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Her Fellowship is sponsored by Medical Research Scotland and is due to finish in 2024.
