Fellows returning to Materials Science

Dr Divya Tiwari

Dr Divya Tiwari obtained a Daphne Jackson Fellowship in July 2013, sponsored by the Royal Academy of Engineering, to work in the development of optical fibre sensors based upon functional nanomaterials, for atmospheric monitoring of carbon dioxide. Prior to her three year career break for family she obtained a PhD in Nanotechnology from Cranfield University in 2010. She has a BEng (Hons) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and several years of industrial experience as an electronics engineer in the area of sensors and data communication products. The Fellowship provided her with training and flexibility and helped to develop her as an independent researcher which enabled her to secure a Research Fellow position on an EPSRC grant at Cranfield University.
